Regular Meeting

March 9th, 2022

Participants:  Chairman – Mark Reinert, Supervisor -John Mohr, Supervisor- Roger Schmidt, Clerk- Bailey Nordmann, Treasurer- Faye Bruckschen, Deputy Treasurer- ReNay Lentsch

Mark Reinert opened the March regular meeting at 7:03 pm.

Treasurer Faye Bruckschen attended the meeting remotely.

Roger Schmidt motioned to pass the meeting minutes from February. John Mohr seconded. Motion passes unanimously.

Bailey Nordmann informed the board about the ARPA reporting due on April 30th, 2022. Bailey Nordmann briefed the board members on where to spend the money. Roger Schmidt mentioned Chief Dale Kosek of the Silver Lake Fire Department asking to be considered for part of the donation from ARPA during the Rich Valley Township Annual meeting on March 8th, 2022. John Mohr mentioned to donate part of ARPA to the local FFA, and 4H. Bailey Nordmann will look more into it for the next meeting and report back.

Jerry Schimelpfenig attended the meeting to invite the board members to the McLeod County Food Shelf Open House on April 5th, 2022, from 3pm-5pm, due to Rich Valley Township yearly donation. Jerry Schimelpfenig informed the board the Food Shelf got a minibus that drives around communities to help people in need. Jerry Schimelpfenig also informed the board that the Food Club bought the old Harold Journal building in September and will make updates to the building to suit the needs of the community.

Bailey Nordmann presented the Resolution Reestablishing Precinct and Polling places for the county. Roger Schmidt motioned to approve the resolution. John Mohr seconded. Motion passes unanimously.

Mark Reinert updated the board about the Financial Advisor, David Dushene. Mr. Dushene will keep in contact with Mark Reinert over the next month.

Faye Bruckshen spoke with Edward Jones, only dealing with CD’s with multiple banks. Each CD is required to be $245,000.00. Edward Jones fee comes out in the rate.

Roger Schmidt received an asphalt card and presented it to the board members and informed the board about the MATIT meeting. Faye Bruckshen and Bailey Nordmann expressed wanting to attend the MATIT Spring Course remotely.

Bailey Nordmann presented the Glencoe Fire Department 2022 contract for $8,870.18. John Mohr motioned to approve the $8,870.18 contract. Roger Schmidt seconded. Motion passes unanimously.

Roger Schmidt updated the board on BioBlend for dust coating with soybean oil.  

Roger Schmidt motioned to approve the 2022 gravel bids notice that will run in the Glencoe Chronicle from March 15th – April 8th. John Mohr seconded. Motion passes unanimously.

Roger Schmidt motioned to add “The board reserves the right to reject any or all quotes” to the gravel bid. John Seconded. Motion passes unanimously.

Roger Schmidt motioned to approve the 2022 dust coating bids notice that will run in the Glencoe Chronicle from March 15th – April 8th. John Mohr seconded. Motion passes unanimously.

John Mohr updated the board members about AKO Electric about fixing the exterior lights coming in May. John Mohr is seeking a refrigerator for the hall.

John Mohr passed on playground equipment till next month.

Roger Schmidt attended the McLeod County Ditch Meeting. Roger Schmidt informed the board that Ditch 5 and 13 had both passed. Roger Schmidt does not know about Ditch 29. The County is waiting on engineer report and could take up to 2-3 weeks and county will let us know about another meeting.

Faye Bruckshen reported the treasurers report remotely. Roger Schmidt motioned to approve the treasurers report. John Mohr seconded. Motion passes unanimously.

ReNay Lentsch presented the disbursements and claims. John Mohr motioned to pay the claims and disbursements. Roger Schmidt seconded. Motion passes unanimously.

John Mohr motioned to adjourn the March meeting at 8:19pm. Roger Schmidt seconded. Motion passes unanimously.
