Regular Meeting
February 8, 2017
Participants:  Faye Bruckschen, Theresa Rusten, Tom Radtke, Don Lhotka, John Mohr
Don Lhotka opened the meeting at 7:00 PM.
The board reviewed the meeting minutes from the January 11, 2017 meeting.  John Mohr approved the meeting minutes, Tom Radtke second the motion.  Motion carried.
Faye Bruckschen presented the treasurer’s report for month ending Jan. 31,2017.
• General -$339,282
• R & B – $584,888
• Landfill Abatement – $692, 940
• Savings – $576,335
• Bond – $1m
John Mohr motioned to approve the treasurer’s report, Tom Radtke second the motion.  Motion carried.
Tim Hanlin & Eric Nitti were present from Envirotech.  They informed the board of what type of product and service they would provide.
The board discussed the newsletter.  Burning permits will be given out each month from 6:30 PM – 7:00 Pm on regular meeting nights.  Board members will take turns being present to provide permits to residents during this time.
The board discussed the resources MAT offers on it’s website for board members to use.
The board discussed MBA Life Insurance policy.  The board will table the renewal of group life insurance until the March meeting.  John Mohr will do more research on insurance group rates.
Don Lhotka stated that he had a road dip repair done on 140th street.
The board discussed specs for the 2017 Dust Coating sealed bid notice.  Theresa Rusten will publish notice in the McLeod County Chronicle for one week.
The board discussed specs for the 2017 Gravel bid.  The board still discussing the need for 2017.
John Mohr motioned to pay the bills, Tom Radtke second the motion.  Motion unanimous.
Don Lhotka motioned to adjourn at 8:51, Tom Radtke second.  Motion unanimous.

January 11, 2016
Participants:  John Mohr, Tom Radtke, Faye Bruckschen, Don Lhotka & Theresa Rusten
John Mohr, Tom Radtke & Faye Bruckschen took the oath of office.
Don Lhotka, Board Chairman, opened the meeting at 7:16 PM.
The board reviewed the meeting minutes from the Dec. 14, 2016 meeting.   John Mohr motioned to approve, Tom Radtke second the motion.  Motion carried.
Faye Bruckschen presented the treasurer’s report for month ending December 31, 2016.  The board discussed the funds and future opportunities.
John Mohr motioned to approve the treasurer’s report, Tom Radtke second the motion,  Motion carried.
John Mohr motioned to approve signature authority to the newly elected officials, Tom Radtke and John Mohr,  for First MN Bank accounts, Tom Radtke second the motion.  Motion carried.
The board discussed the Board of Audit Meeting and the contents of the meeting.  John Mohr motioned to have the Board of Audit meeting following the Feb. 8 meeting, Don Lhotka second the motion.  Motion carried.
The board discussed the Board of Appeal process and needed training.   John Mohr motioned to adopt Resolution 9-13 transferring the Township of Rich Valley Local Board of Appeal and Equilization powers to McLeod County, Tom Radtke second the motion.  Motion carried.
Road Report
• The board discussed the road conditions.
• The board discussed dust control.  The board will be researching the difference between magnesium chloride and calcium chloride applications.
• The board will determine if gravel will be needed for 2017.
The board discussed the newsletter.  The newsletter will be printed in color.   Theresa Rusten & John Morh will look into magnets for the residents with township contact information.
John Mohr motioned to pay the bills, Don Lhotka second the motion.  Motion carried.
Don Lhotka motioned to adjourn the January 11th, 2017 regular meeting at 9:05 PM, Tom Radtke second the motion.  Motion carried.
